The 72-year-old director, says the star system hasn't changed.
With movies like Saudagar, Khalnayak, Hero, Pardes and Kalicharan, showman Subhash Ghai ruled the industry in the ’80s and ’90’s. Recently when we caught reveals that if he were to pen an autobiography, it would be inspirational. He says, “My autobiography will be a more of a comic than a tragic affair. I look at people with lot of love and affection. There will be a lot of inspiration for the strugglers.”
The 72-year-old director, says the star system hasn’t changed. He says, “When a film flops the directors are blamed. But, when a film becomes a hit, the star takes away all the credit. This trend has been following for ages.”
Pardes will be screened at New Excelsior on 5 November. “It feels like I directed this film yesterday. SRK loved the story and he agreed to do the film. During casting, the producers were keen to cast Madhuri and Salman … the original wish list was SRK, Salman and Madhuri,” he says, adding, “But I put my foot down and said I only want new comers opposite SRK. I convinced them and then went ahead with the film.”
