Pooja Ent Woes: Akshay to The Rescue of Jacky Bhagnani

Pooja Entertainment, a renowned production company run by Jackky Bhagnani and his father Vashu Bhagnani, has come under fire for the non-payment of several artistes. Responding to this financial problem is the actor Akshay Kumar who ensures that the cast and crew are all paid their due amounts.

The financial crunch happened after the release of Bade Miyan Chote Miya. It was a big budget movie that had stars like Sonakshi Sinha, Tiger Shroff, Alaya F, Manushi Chhillar and others. However, it didn’t perform well as anticipated thus leading to delayed payments.

The intervention by Akshay Kumar.

Yesterday in a press release given by Jackky Bhagnani he said of his gratitude towards Akshay Kumar who offered to have his dues from the film be put on hold until all other crew members were paid fully. According to Jackky, "Akshay sir met me recently to discuss this matter; upon learning about this situation he didn't hesitate to step forward and show his support for the crew." In addition, he insisted that until every single member working on our projects has received their full payment they ought not be releasing any check concerning him.

Jackky praised Akshay Kumar’s understanding and solidarity with the team during these tough times as she stressed how important strong relations are in Bollywood. "We are incredibly grateful for Akshay sir’s understanding and his willingness to stand with us during this time. The movie business hinges on strong relationships and that is the spirit we strive to foster in the industry," added Jackky on behalf of all the film's producers.

Outstanding Payments

On Friday it was reported that many actors such as Sonakshi Sinha, Tiger Shroff, Alaya F and others were yet to receive their paychecks from the film. Furthermore, it was added by BN Tiwari, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) president that Vashu Bhagnani still owes ₹65 lakh to all the crew members who worked on three of his films: “Mission Raniganj,” “Ganapath” and “Bade Miyan Chote Miya.”

About the Film

“Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” directed by Ali Abbas Zafar is a mix of action and drama starring Akshay Kumar alongside Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Alaya F, Manushi Chhillar and Sonakshi Sinha. Ronit Bose Roy as well as Manish Chaudhari are also part of the movie. Theatrically released on April 10th, this film had been made using about ₹350 crore but ended up earning only ₹59.17 crore at the box office.

At present, industry insiders continue to wait for any updates so that they might know if there will be further development about those withheld payments meant for cast members and crew.
