Thandie Newton, who is known for her roles such as, Linda in The Pursuit of Happyness, Nyah Nordoff-Hall in Mission: Impossible II and Christine in Crash, opened up about her horrific experience where she was sexually abused by a Hollywood director during a casting session.

Thandie, 43, spoke to W Magazine, “A director, on a callback, had a camera shooting up my skirt and asked me to touch my t*ts and think about the guy making love to me in the scene. I thought, ‘OK, this is a little weird,’ but there was a female casting director in the room and I’d done weird stuff before so I did it,” she revealed. She also recalled an incident where a producer approached her at a party and said, “‘Oh, Thandie, I’ve seen you recently!’ It turns out that the director was showing that audition tape to his friends after poker games at his house. And they would all get off on it,” Thandie added.

The reason she is opening up about her experience now is because she wants to inform and aware young actresses, who could face similar situations in their lives. “One person will read this and it will stop them from getting sexually abused by another such director. That’s the person I’m interested in,” she revealed, according to JustJared.com.
