Rihanna has throat issues

Rihanna was forced to cancel her performance at the Grammy Awards on Monday after she contracted laryngitis, with doctors warning her that she could have harmed her vocal chords.

According to TMZ.com, the Umbrella singer showed up for rehearsals at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles — the venue for the ceremony — but was “struggling with bronchitis” and was on medication.

Rihanna’s representative later said that doctors convinced her to pull out of her performance and be on “vocal rest” for 48 hours to avoid permanent damage to her vocal chords.
