Zach Barack becomes the first Trans actor to feature in a Marvel Film. The actor, who will be seen in Marvel’s upcoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, shares his experience about his historic role in a Marvel Film at an interview with Variety.
The 23-year-old was thrilled to be a part of the Marvel cinematic universe. “I’m kind of losing my mind a little bit, but I’m acting like I’m not. I don’t know that if it has fully (sunk in)… I don’t quite have the capacity to explain how meaningful it is to me, he shares.
As reported by www.justjarred.com Zach’s read his fair share of comic books while growing up. “There’s something very inherently ‘trans’ about those stories, especially ones where identity and hidden identity is part of them. For example, Peter Parker’s journey in Spider-Man: Homecoming is a lot about balancing being a teenager and having this other part of your life,” he explained.
In the upcoming film Zach plays Peter Praker’s classmate. He shares, “Being a trans-masculine person sometimes there’s a pressure to be a different way than I feel naturally inclined to do because I want to fit in, and I have to actively fight that instinct.”
