Yet again, superstar Prabhas has pulled off sensational openings on day one by drawing Rs 19 crore net collections in Telangana state and surpassing the likes of ‘RRR’ and ‘Salaar’. ‘It has garnered Rs 19 crore net collections on day one and it is highest for a Telugu film till now,” says a distributor who adds, “’RRR’ and ‘Salaar’ had touched Rs 15 and Rs 16 crores respectively and now ‘Kalki’ has established a new day one record which is unbeatable,” he adds.
He claims that the collections happened since 10 to 12 shows were run in many theatres across Telangana so it was able to crack a new record. “Audience thronged theatres and made it a winner and Prabhas fans were all over the place,” he adds.
He claims that Andhra Pradesh distributors would have made Rs 20 to 25 crores net collections on day one and it could hold well in the days to come. “It is a bigger hit among urban audiences in both the states, but collections among B&C audiences is not encouraging enough," he points out.
