Of late, new directors making their debut in Tamil cinema have been experimenting with different genres. One such filmmaker is Krishna Mohan, who is all set for his debut film Nagal (Fake).
Sivasakthi, who was hitherto seen as a villain, will be seen playing a hero in this film, and Mumbai-based model Rishma, who has acted in a few short films in the past, will make her debut as the female lead.
Talking about the film, Mohan says, “It’s a sci-fi thriller. The plot revolves around a daring cop’s mission to unravel the mystery surrounding a medical student, who’s in a complex circumstance. I am attempting a new form of narration, and the film will be an edge-of-the-seat thriller.”
The medical student will be played by actor Sunny. Most of the film will be shot in Chennai, save for episodes involving medical procedures, which will be shot abroad. Music for Nagal is being composed by Faizal.
