Vikram Prabhu will be in the role of a call taxi driver called Sivaji, Shamlee, who makes a comeback as a heroine, will be seen opposite him.

Vikram Prabhu’s upcoming flick is being directed by Ganesh Vinaayac of Thagararu fame. While Vikram Prabhu will be in the role of a call taxi driver called Sivaji, Shamlee, who makes a comeback as a heroine, will be seen opposite him.

Speaking about choosing such a powerful title, and putting Vikram under pressure (to continue the legacy of his family), Ganesh says, “I didn’t have Vikram Prabhu on mind while penning the script. We even approached a different hero with the same title. But things fell in place and we all know it’s an apt title for the script. And every one in ‘Annai Illam’ (Sivaji’s house) also gave their nod.”

The story happens during a travel from Puducherry to Kanyakumari. “There is a struggle in his profession. An incident which affects him, and what happens thereafter, forms the crux. No, it is not a thriller. It’s an engaging family drama with commercial elements,” he adds. After approaching actresses like Hansika, Kajal and Amy, the director finally zeroed in on Shamlee.  “We could not get dates from the other heroines. I got Shamlee’s pictures and felt she was the right choice for the female lead. I named her character Anjali too, just for everyone to recall that she was introduced by Mani Ratnam sir as a child artiste in his film Anjali,” he concludes.
