Following Shaji Kailas and Siddique, here is yet another M’town filmmaker, Vijay K Mohan, who is trying his luck in Tamil with the film Imai. Based on a real incident, the film tells a wild romance story. Sarish  is making his debut as the male lead and Akshya Priya, who has done a couple of Telugu movies and a meaty character in Marudhu, is being roped in as the leading lady.

Talking about the movie, Vijay says, “It is a romantic tale between a ruffian and an intelligent girl. It is inspired from a real story, which was narrated to me by a co-passenger in one of my train journeys. I saw it had all the potential for a commercial fare.”

On debuting in Tamil, Vijay who has Malayalam films  Nalacharitham Nalam Divasam and Venalmaram to his credit says, “Tamil industry always welcomes new talents and innovative themes. That gave me the confidence to make the story in Tamil.”
