Kootthan exposes the plight of junior artistes

Actress Remya Nambeesan, producer Aishwarya, who's also actor-director Jothikrishna's wife, and actor T. Rajendar have sung songs composed by music director Balaji for the film.

Kootthan, directed by Venky, is a film that explores the plight of junior artistes and group dancers. It features Rajkumar and Srijitha in the lead roles, as well as a Mumbai-based actress named Sona.

Talking about the film, Venky says, “So far no one has attempted to talk about the predicament of junior artistes and background dancers in the film industry. I spoke with many of them before starting work on the movie, because I wanted to project a realistic picture. It’s not preachy.”
