Thani Oruvan to have a sequel!
Ravi is currently working on Bogan, directed by Lakshman of Romeo Juliet fame.
In a recent Twitter chat, director Mohan Raja hinted that the sequel of Thani Oruvan would likely be Jayam Ravi’s 25th film. When one of his fans asked him,
“Can we expect a sequel to Thani Oruvan,” Raja said, “Sure. Ravi’s 25th film, hopefully.”
When DC contacted Jayam Ravi, he said with a smile, “Yes. Mohan and I will be doing a sequel to the film, but I am not sure if he has plans to retain the same cast or not. It’s a question of time. Only he’ll be having a proper idea. I am sure he’s working on developing the story, which will be entirely different from that of the original ones.
The last time Thani Oruvan was telecast on TV, the movie got a phenomenal response and my Twitter was abuzz with congratulatory messages. I was humbled by each one of them,” and added, “We thought my 25th film should be something special to me and we stumbled upon this idea.”
Owing to a good story line and fine performances by actors, the film got a huge boost from the box office and was also critically acclaimed. Ravi is currently working on Bogan, directed by Lakshman of Romeo Juliet fame. The lead cast includes Arvind Swami and Hansika Motwani. Meanwhile, Mohan Raja is working on a film with Sivakarthikeyan, Nayanthara and Fahadh Faasil.
