Who'd you want as your BFF?
This Friendship Day, celebrate those buddies around you, but why not also indulge in a flight of fancy and pick a fictional BFF just for today?
Let’s face it — we have all grown up wanting a Chandler to make us laugh, a Blair Waldorf to scorch-burn our enemies with, a Thalapathi Surya to stay loyal to, and a Barney Stinson to be our wingman! (and sing Mustafa Mustafa with?)
Of course, we love and cherish our friends IRL, but we could be forgiven for wanting imaginary ones at times! This Friendship Day, celebrate those buddies around you, but why not also indulge in a flight of fancy and pick a fictional BFF just for today?

The entire cast of Lord of the Rings, because I love fantasy. I would like to have the elves and the dwarfs as my friends. Dwarfs are the source of entertainment and they love food as much as I do — and they entertain friends as much as me! Plus, they are loyal and straight forward. I like Elves because, they have a certain amount of mystery which I can connect with, and again, they are loyal too.

Captain Jack Sparrow! It would be a very funny and entertaining experience with him. His friend would get to go through a lot of adventures, ups and downs, even get into trouble. The character of Jack Sparrow sometimes gives you a feeling that he’s disloyal and betrays his friends, but at the end, he always comes, helps and gets them out of trouble.

Interesting question... I would like Thilaana Mohanambal’s Jillu, played by Aachi Manorama to be my friend. That character is so much fun and full of love.
It would be great to have a friend like that. Other than that, I would like Senthil’s character from the ‘petromax light comedy’. Imagine having a crazy pal like him to back you; it would be the best!

Of course, Harry Potter! I’ve always been obsessed with the concept of an alternate universe filled with unrelaistic yet magical things. I’d love to be his Quidditch buddy and fly around Hogwarts.. it’s a place that is different from the one you’ve grown up in; so you can experience the best of these worlds. I’d love to stun a couple of people back in my world, and have a bit of fun!

I would gladly be a friend of Calvin’s mother from Calvin and Hobbes, as just like me, she also has to constantly bear the brunt of a super-mischievous son! My son Sankalp, who is five is a literal, live-action version of Calvin and has the same spiky hair to boot, too. Just like how Calvin has a club called G.R.O.S.S (Get Rid of Slimy girlS), Calvin’s mom and I will begin a club called M.A.D which stands for Moms Against Distress! We could lend each other a sympathetic ear as we vent about our little dragons and their antics.

Without a doubt, Marlon Brando’s Vito Corleone from The Godfather movies. Actually, everyone should be picking him only. To have a powerful friend like him is all one can ask for in life!

I would like Popeye to be my friend. He goes from zero to hero in a snap ! I wish we also had such a power. Whenever you want rise up to the moment, all you have to do is just swallow some spinach. And then you become invincible — later you can be normal like everyone else too!
