Shraddha Srinath dubs for herself
The lawyer-turned-actress will also be seen playing Nivin Pauly's pair in his Tamil movie directed by Gautam Ramachandran.
Looks like young Kannada actress Shraddha Srinath of U Turn fame is the toast of Kollywood now. After bagging an important role in Mani Ratnam’s Kaattru Veliyidai — which marks her debut in Tamil — the pretty girl has been roped in by Mani’s protégé, Kannan for his upcoming flick, Evan Thanthiran, opposite Gautham Karthik.
Talking about how he zeroed in on Shraddha, Kannan says, “After selecting Gautham, we were looking for someone who is not heroine material — but a girl with simple and casual looks, as his pair. We auditioned a few girls, but could not find one I had in my mind. Meanwhile, I watched U Turn and was very impressed. I called Shraddha from Bengaluru for an audition alongside Gautham, so that I could gauge the pair’s compatibility, besides performance. She was really good and the biggest plus is that she is wellversed in Tamil.”
On the role she essays, he reveals, “She plays a final year engineering student, while Gautham and RJ Balaji are dropouts from engineering colleges!”
“Evan Thanthiran is a romantic-action thriller. How the lead pair tackle problems that come from the society with their intelligence, forms the crux of the film, reveals the Settai director, adding that Shraddha will be dubbing for the movie as well.
The lawyer-turned-actress will also be seen playing Nivin Pauly’s pair in his Tamil movie directed by Gautam Ramachandran. Few attempts to reach Shraddha proved futile since she is away shooting in Ladakh for Mani Ratnam’s movie.
