This will be a coup of sorts if it comes true! Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will be soon making his debut in the south, with the Tamil and Telugu bilingual sequel of blockbuster hit Naan Ee/Eega. Eminent writer Vijayendra Prasad, who is the father of ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli, recently revealed this, while interacting with students of a film school in Chennai. The writer, who is gearing up for the sequel of Baahubali, also spoke about his experiences writing  the story for the National Award winning film’s first part.

Sequels of blockbusters being the order of the day — such as Enthiran’s sequel 2.O  being underway — it didn’t come as a surprise when Vijayendra said that he had plans to make a sequel to Eega (Telugu), Naan Ee (Tamil), which was directed by Rajamouli. The movie was later dubbed and released as Makkhi in Hindi. “I am working on the sequel to Eega and Salman Khan has evinced interest to be a part of it,” said Prasad.  He had written the story for Salman Khan’s hit Bajrangi Bhaijaan, as well, which was directed by Kabir Khan.

Naan Ee portrayed a fly as the protagonist and actors Nani and Samantha played the human leads, while Kannada superstar Sudheep essayed the main antagonist. Considering the fact that it was Sudheep’s role that was given prominence in Naan Ee, sources say that Sallu might be interested to reprise Sudheep with Prasad tweaking the character a little bit. After all, when yet another Bollywood biggie Akshay Kumar is foraying into the south as a powerful antagonist in Rajini starrer 2.o, why not Salman?
