Music director KP rides on film’s success

DC indulges with music director KP on his latest project and what makes him go.

Chennai based music composer KP is on a high, after his songs from the movie Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari got rave reviews. He composed three songs for the movie, the title track sung by legendary rapper Yogi B, ‘Virgin Stoner’ sung by David Simon and the theme track sung by Yogi B with additional vocals by Hyde Karty. The expository music and noteworthy background score drove the movie throughout. The most commendable aspect about the movie was its music and the overpowering score by KP which pulled off the audacious movie.

Before making debut in Kollywood, KP used to work as a keyboard programmer. In a candid conversation the ace composer avers, “I have been into music since childhood and in the industry for more than a decade and worked with prominent music composers as a keyboard programmer”.

 The protagonist of this movie Dheeraj, was KP’s schoolmate. “He would jokingly say that one day when he would become the hero I would be the music composer for his movie and that has finally materialised”, laughs KP. “This movie is an out and out thriller. The director of

this film is Chandru KR and we have done short films together in the past”.

KP further adds, “There are three tracks— the title track is sung by Yogi B, Virgin stoner and the third track is the signature theme music of Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari produced by Rise East Productions”. KP wishes to collaborate with acclaimed artists for his future projects and tracks.
