A road thriller on its way!
Directed by Guhan Seniappan, Sawaari, is set to hit the screens on March 18.
At a time when experimentation in Kollywood is becoming prominent — Jil Jung Juk, a surreal dark comedy and Miruthan, a zombie thriller being the most recent examples — here is a physiological road thriller, which promises to enthrall movie lovers. Directed by Guhan Seniappan, Sawaari, which is set to hit the screens on March 18, has been getting great response, thanks to its intriguing teaser.
Speaking about the movie, Mathivanan, who is one of the lead actors, says, “Six months back, we were unsure if people would accept a film like this. But, the past few months have been a very good period in Kollywood for alternate movies. Audience are more receptive, and due to positive response for both the teaser and the music, we hope that Sawaari will be a one-of-its-kind experience in the industry.”
Further elaborating, he says, “The movie only involves four to five characters in total — myself, Benito Franklin, Karthik Yogi and Sanam Shetty, so we had ample scope to perform. Though we featured in a few roles prior to this movie, Sawaari will establish us as performers.” Mathi, who comes from a theatre background, also explains that it was initially difficult to adapt to the style of acting which is required in films — “Both demand completely different skill sets. But as my director gave me enough time to rehearse, I got better as the shoot progressed.”
Vishal Chandrasekhar of Jil Jung Juk fame has composed music for the film, while Chezian was the man behind the camera. The late Kishore T. E took care of the editing. “This film will be a perfect example of how good the output can be, when ambitious youngsters like us team up with seasoned technicians!” Mathivannan signs off on a confident note.
