Aruvi will be a heavy entertainer: Arun Prabu Purushothaman
Says director Arun Prabu Purushothaman while talking about the genre of the film and what's in store for the audience.
Aruvi has created quite a sensation with the new trailer that was released few days ago. The trailer promises an intense film with Aditi Balan playing the protagonist. The trailer and the applause the film has garnered from the critics who have watched the film at festivals, have set the cinema fans wondering what the film is about. We probe into Aruvi with its director Arun Prabu Purushothaman.
“The film chronicles the events that happen in the life the eponymous heroine of the movie. From another perspective, it throws the worldview of the youngsters. The film will be for all kind of audience,” Arun explains. The film cannot be categorised under one genre, he says — “It’s a multi genre film. There is suspense, comedy and other shades too. I am a bit hesitant to use the word ‘different’, because it has been squandered and used to its threadbare. Still, I have to say that the film will provide a unique experience to the watcher.”
Talking about the title, he shares, “A waterfall keeps flowing down irrespective of who stands at its bottom — the heroine of the movie is also like that. If one watches the film, he/she will know how well the name justifies it.” The conversation veers towards Aditi Balan, who has played the lead character. “We auditioned for a long time, and finally chose Aditi, who is a lawyer and footballer in real life. The whole film is carried by this one character, and we believed she could pull it off.”
While signing off, he says, “The film is not inspired from one event or instance. It is basically a reflection of the society and things that goes around here. It will be a heavy entertainer for the audience at the same time.” Aruvi will hit the screens in December.
