Suresh has always inspired me in many aspects ever since we worked together under late ace Balu Mahendra sir. I have admired his hard work and earnest efforts of not giving up that easily. I could make out from the songs and trailers that his next outing Neeya 2 will be a sure shot hit,” remarked national award winner Vetri Maaran at the promo meet of the movie.

A violent love story with a snake playing the central character, Neeya 2 features Jai in a two-dimensional role with Raai Laxmi and Catherine Tresa as his pair and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar essaying the snake woman.

Suresh said, “Since the film has a snake based theme right from the start, I decided to use a real King Cobra instead of resorting to CG.  One of the highlights of this film is a 22-ft serpent to be seen in an important role throughout the movie. To make sure that we get the exact serpent as we had imagined, cinematographer Rajavel and I had to travel across different places in India and Thailand. Finally, we happened to find the exact one in Bangkok.” The director lauded Jai for performing in strenuous action blocks despite it being a fasting month for him.

Raai Laxmi said, “I am returning to Tamil after a gap of two years. I have been offered many horror movies in the recent past, which I turned down. When Suresh narrated the script to me, it was fascinating and something new – a snake story. I took some time before signing on for the project. It is a challenging role and a mind-blowing experience. After almost ten long years, I have teamed up with Jai.”

Produced by Sridhar, the film has Shabir as the music composer. Varu and Catherine were conspicuous by their absence.
