AR Rahman set for UK tour
Rahman has lent his voice for the song with Virat rapping his bit in between.
Rahman is all set to captivate his fans in Leeds and Manchester for the first time, during his ‘UK Intimate Tour’, scheduled from September 22. “The Intimate Tour is about music, it’s all about intimacy and seeing you face to face and I look forward to see you all very soon (sic)” ARR posted on his FB account. One may recall that ARR had composed a Punjabi song for the Summer 2012 London Olympics as part of a medley highlighting the Indian influence in the UK.
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated collaboration of the double Oscar winner with cricket sensation Virat Kohli for the anthem of the upcoming football league Premier Futsal League is finally out! The thematic promo number titled ‘Naam Hai Futsal’ is a peppy one, in which ARR and Kohli, the league ambassador were seen shaking a leg for the techno-beats and bonding, big time. Rahman has lent his voice for the song with Virat rapping his bit in between.
It is the first time that the maestro, Rahman, has composed music for a franchise-based sports league in the country, and he unveiled the anthem on Twitter. “I have been a fan of AR Rahman for years. It will be a personal achievement and a privilege to share the screen with him and lend my voice for the anthem (sic),” Virat has remarked earlier.
The franchise-based five-a-side football game which features city based teams from Mumbai, Kochi, Goa, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad is scheduled to commence on July 15.
