At the audio launch of Kaasu Mela Kaasu, it was sort of a reunion of ace Bharathiraja’s protégés who have their own identities now — Bhagyaraj, Pandiarajan and Parthiban, who were seen sharing lighter moments with their mentor. Speaking at the event, Bharathiraja praised ace comedian Mayilsamy, who plays a crucial role in KMK. He said, “It is easy to act as a hero, but it is very tough to play a comedian. One should have an innate sense of comedy. Mayilsamy is one such person. I am a serious person and have no humour sense. But I was laughing continuously after watching the quirky invitation for the audio launch.” The film directed by KS Pazhani has Sharukh and Gayathri in the lead and supporting cast includes Kovai Sarala, Kanja Karuppu and Madhumitha.
The director also went on to say, “I am an atheist! Lord Muruga was an ordinary man who ruled ‘Aarupadai Veedu’ and later we only made him God. Let the PM, CM belong to any religion, be it Hindu, Muslim or Christian, but when they are in power they should remain as a ‘common man”.
