You’ll lose out in films if you speak up for social causes: Ameer
The movie directed by Ashok Thyagarajan has Abi and Venba in the lead with Appu Kutty, Aadukalam Naren and others as supporting cast.
“I notice that some upcoming actors involve themselves in social activities. Though it is a good gesture, it will not help them grow in the film industry. Social service is different. Politics is different. If you raise your voice in public, you are denied chances in cinema. I myself was a victim of such circumstances,” said ace actor/filmmaker Ameer. He was speaking at the promo meet of upcoming film Mayanadhi. Apparently, he was referring to young Abi Saravanan who associates himself with several causes, including farmers’ issues.

Heaping praise on Ilaiyaraaja, Ameer said, “I was invited for the event only two days ago. When I heard Bhavatharini is the composer, I gladly accepted. We have not seen in the history of world cinema a musical family like maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s. And I feel proud that they are from Tamil cinema.”
Yuvan Shankar Raja, Subramanya Siva, S.R. Prabhakaran, Soundarraja were among who were spotted on the occasion.
