Vijay and Ajith admirers are on the warpath again.

Vijay fans around the globe had begun the celebrations for their ‘Thalaivaa’ uploading videos and sharing their wishes right from the start of the month for his birthday, which is today (June 22).

Even as the celebrations were going on at one level, the perennial twitter war between the fans of ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay and ‘Thala’ Ajith hit new lows, that too over trivial issues. However, despite the tensions in their fandom, the two stars have always maintained a cordial relationship.

Just when Vijay’s fans started celebrating his 45th birthday with a common hashtag #ThalapathyBDayCDP, after the makers of his next film announced that the first look and title of Thalapathy 63 will be out on the eve and on his birthday, a section of Ajith fans started trending a malicious tag in #June22VijayDeathDay. Vijay’s fans did not retaliate or stoop to that level as they responded with dignity posting #LongLiveAJITH.’

From mocking the achievements to dragging their family members into their fight, fans of both stars have done it all in the past and a vicious cycle governs these exchanges.  On many occasions, the stars have requested their fans not to get into such wars of words and to give and take respect.

Several other celebrities including Simbu have requested cinema fans to show their love and support for their fellow stars instead of putting down others. They were asked to spread love rather than hate. One hopes such undesirable fans battles and hatred on digital space would come to an end and peace prevails even as a happy occasion as a birthday is to be celebrated today.

Meanwhile, walls of Madurai have been adorned with huge posters of Vijay, inviting him to join politics. Some fans even compared him to AIADMK mentor and former CM Arignar Anna and Periyar.
