Vijay’s flashy and trendy costumes, from his upcoming flick Bairavaa, which released recently, has created a big buzz among his fans. Sathya, the man behind the costume design, says that he has deliberately used colours, which had not been worn by Ilayathalapathy so far.

Speaking to DC, an excited Sathya says, “We decided to pick something fresh in terms of colours and patterns for Vijay sir. In a way, being a hardcore fan of Vijay sir, I worked on several permutations and combinations to see my Thalaivar in awesome costumes. In the folk song with Keerthy, we created a printed lycra T-shirt along with a thin scarf; and the green shirt, which he wears,  was chosen by Vijay sir himself. In fact, the thin double-layered shirt, which was made of soft crepe fabric, complimented the printed tee and will have mass appeal. It will seem like a bird’s wings when Vijay sir twirls for the folk number.”

For another song, Sathya has bought six denim pants of different colors and cut them and patched them up to make a pair of multi-coloured denim jeans — “I have also made five different suits for a song sequence which is being shot in Switzerland. Vijay sir tried out the first one and said, ‘Sathya, pinnittappa (Sathya, you nailed it).’ That is the biggest compliment that I have ever received, so far.”
