High expectations for Mohanlal's trilingual!
The movie has also been made in Mollywood as Vismayam and in Tamil as Namadhu.
With M’town Superstar Mohanlal enjoying a huge fan following in Andhra Pradesh as his hit movies are being dubbed into Telugu, here is Lalettan’s debut hero flick in Tollywood — Manamantha!
In this family entertainer directed by award-winning Telugu filmmaker Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, Gautami who made her comeback with Papanasam ( a remake of Mohanlal’s Drishyam) has been roped in to play the female lead as Mohanlal’s wife.
In fact, they are considered a lucky pair ever since they shared the screen in the Malayalam blockbuster, the musical thriller His Highness Abdullah, and later in Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar.
The movie has also been made in Mollywood as Vismayam and in Tamil as Namadhu. Speaking to DC, executive producer Krishna Rao says the film is an anthology. “Four different stories run in parallel, and are connected to the main plot in the end. Mohanlal sir has appeared in a song sequence in the 1994 Balakrishna movie, in which the late legend Akkineni Nageshwar Rao also shared the screen. But technically this is the first T’town movie in which he essays the protagonist!”
Known for his perfection, Mohanlal even learnt Telugu hiring a tutor to get the diction right, so that his dialogue delivery would be as close to perfection as possible.
The supporting cast includes veterans such as Nassar, Urvashi, Nedumudi Venu, and SPB, among others.
