When it got released in 2006, thriller Thiruttu Payale turned out to be a blockbuster. The film was then remade in Bollywood by Susi Ganesan himself as Shortcut Romeo.

Now, a decade later, the director has come back with the second part of the film, which is ready to hit screens. DC finds about the similarities between the two parts, and the cast of the film in an interview with the director Susi Ganesan.

There will be an underlying theme that runs in both the films, says the director — “If I tell you even a little about the script, it will turn out to be a huge spoiler.  The similarity between both films is that they tell you what happens when someone’s secret  gets into the hands of another. So, this baseline is put in contemporary context in this film.”

When asked why he wanted to make another installment in the first place, he says, “The issues that the film deals with are increasing with each day in the world. There is enough material for about 10 Thiruttu Payale films! Voyeurism and the cyber crimes are growing and have never ceased. The film is not just about internet crimes — but about humans who become ‘thiruttu payales’ when no one watches them”

So, we ask if he has plans for a third part, and Susi replies, “No. As of now, I don’t have any plans. I am now concentrating on this  release. We are aiming to bring it out in August.”
