Curious case of The Fakir
In what comes as surprising news, DC learns that Marjane Satrapi is likely to be replaced.
It came as a pleasant surprise when Dhanush announced that he will be part of a Hollywood film The Fakir. For his fans, who celebrated his Bollywood ventures, the news was nothing short of a treat.
Now, we hear from a source that the Iranian-French director and author Marjane Satrapi, who was signed in to helm the ambitious project, will not be part of the film anymore.
However, the reason behind the recent change is unclear. The makers are yet to release an official statement regarding the development. Earlier, the film’s producer Luc Bossi informed us that the crew will start shooting from early 2017. But, a close source to Dhanush reveals that the shoot might get postponed further and might only take off later in the year.
The Fakir, an adaptation of French author Romain Puértolas’s novel The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir Who Got Trapped In An Ikea Wardrobe, follows the story of an Indian and his pursuit of love.
The film also has a huge star cast including Hollywood star Uma Thurman and Alexandra Daddario of True Detective fame in lead roles. Though many Tamil actors including Rajinikanth have acted in Hollywood films, Dhanush is the first leading K-town hero to bag the lead role in a Hollywood film.
