Arun Vijay shoots for 36 hours without a break
In addition to the actor, other members of the team also worked without compromise.
For a stunt sequence in his upcoming flick directed by Arivazhagan of Eeram fame, Arun Vijay shot for 36 hours continuously. In addition to the actor, other members of the team also worked without compromise. Arun tells DC, “It was a crucial scene which we shot in the dumpyards of Pallikaranai; a crime scene, in fact. The whole unit co-operated a lot and pulled this off quite well, braving the hot sun. We had nearly 400 people on the sets with a five-camera set-up. A particular sequence in the film demanded continuity, so we decided that we set off to a dumpyard on the outskirts of the city to shoot. With this shoot, 30 per cent of the film is complete.” The Thadaiyara Thaakka actor also adds that the team took the necessary safety measures to avoid emergency situations.
“This is my maiden production venture, so I took extra care to make sure things were fine. Fire trucks had been arranged for safety,” he says. Arun is also excited about playing a cop for the first time in his career. “I will be sporting a clean-shaven look, and I have also put on a few pounds to suit the cop role. I was waiting for a good role after Yennai Arindhaal, when Arivazhagan approached me with this brilliant script. Unlike the regular film cops, the role requires my body language to be subtle,” he concludes. This film will have Mahima Nambiar of Sattai fame playing Arun’s love interest. We hear that she’s playing a teacher!
