Venkat Prabhu's latest comments on GOAT upsets Thalapathy Vijay Fans

Fans are naturally surprised by Venkat Prabhu's comments about how GOAT can be a plain disaster. The GOAT by Thalapathy Vijay continues to shine at the box office, especially in Tamil Nadu and overseas. The movie is directed by Venkat Prabhu and is an action drama where Vijay plays both father and son. Within four days the movie grossed a whopping Rs. 280 crores worldwide, and today’s figures are expected to be more than Rs. 12 crores (opening collection of Indian 2) to level The GOAT to more than Rs. 300 crore mark as Indian 2 did.

The film is still rising up the ladder in various parts of the world but disappointing figures have come forth from the Telugu speaking areas. This was the question Venkat Prabhu was asked to address when his intervention was conducted in a Twitter space interaction recently where he suggested that the over-marketing and the attachment to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) college basketball in the film hindered the markets in Telugu and Hindi making them perform in a less than average manner.

As it usually goes, Prabhu's comment resulted in various views from netizens, some sympathizing with his views while others try to propose other causes for the failure of the film in some locales.

The film is an AGS Entertainment production and features a very prominent cast Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sneha Prabhudeva, Jayaram, Prashanth, Mohan and others in pivotal roles. The music of the film has been one of the main attractions of the movie composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Trisha has made a special guest appearance. Such regional setbacks could not dent the performance of The GOAT which has made the fans very curious regarding how well it would do at the foreign box office.
