Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha's 96 to get a sequel?

Since its release in 2018, the beloved Tamil film 96, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha, has earned its place as a respected cult classic. Fable devotees of the romantic drama with touches of heartwarming romance have for ages been waiting for any opening of a sequel to their favorite movie, which now appears that their wishes may soon be granted owing to confirmation from Director Prem Kumar that he is already working on the script of the sequel to 96 that was dreadfully awaited by all the fans.
While giving updates about the film, Prem Kumar recently announced that he is done with writing the sequel’s script. He had even explained it to Vijay Sethupathi’s wife, who enjoyed the storyline. To begin with, the director had reservations about pursuing the sequel for 96, but as wonderful ideas were contributed, everything fell together in writing and he ended up writing the entire script.
Nonetheless, the fate of the project lies with the two main protagonists Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha. While enjoying the anticipation of seeking further appeals from the audiences while the dust is still settling, buzz of 96 sequel began with cautious optimism that it will recreate the heart-rending emotions and charm of the original film.
