Jayam Ravi shocked all of his fans and the film fraternity by announcing that he would be parting ways with his wife of fifteen years Aarti Ravi. Though Aarti Ravi had announced that there was trouble in the marriage with Jayam, other members of the society were caught completely unawares by the official news. Furthermore, it has come as quite a surprise that Aarti Ravi has said that the press release was issued without her approval.

In her statement, Aarti pointed out that she was disappointed and surprised over the fact that Jayam Ravi announced to the public without informing her. She also expressed her pain, stating, “I was within a few days extremely shocked and deranged over the news of our marriage, which was announced to the public without anyone asking for my permission. Everybody tells a story after 18 years of occupation then one must understand: such matters require dignity, decorum and privacy.” In her further discharge, Aarti said that she had attempted to talk to her husband about the negative reception of the news of their divorce, and particularly how it might affect the children.
Unfortunately, she stated, neither she nor the children were informed of the announcement until after it was made. For those unaware, on September 9, 2024, Jayam Ravi announced that he was separating from Aarti, thus putting a mark on their 15-year-long marriage. In his statement, the actor sought a withdrawal of interest from his female admirers and shut all speculation as to the cause of this decision, declaring it was not a rash act. The two children of the couple are Arav and Ayaan.
