Kerala Police keen on quantitative analysis of Kalabhavan Mani samples
The forensic surgeon who conducted autopsy had said that normally it took a month to get such results from the lab.
THRISSUR: The police team probing the death of actor Kalabhavan Mani has asked the Regional Analytical Laboratory at Kakkanad to conduct the quantitative test of his blood samples, prepare the toxicology report of the internal organs and submit the results at the earliest.
It was stated earlier that the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences would conduct the quantitative test of the blood and that the result was expected to be out on Tuesday.
However, DySP K.S. Sudarsan heading the investigating told DC, “we have been told that the institute will not conduct the test. It is a costly one and theirs is a private lab as well. So, we will now rely on the test results from the government’s lab at Kakkanad to draw a conclusion on the suspected methanol content in the actor’s blood,” he said.
The forensic surgeon who conducted autopsy had said that normally it took a month to get such results from the lab. The DySP said that but for the finding of methanol in Mani’s blood, it could have been registered as death due to severe liver ailment.“
The team of doctors who conducted the autopsy has conveyed to us that the actor’s liver was almost dysfunctional. We have come to know that Mani was drinking heavily in such a medical condition,” he added.
