Siju Wilson, who started his career with Vineeth Sreenivasan's debut directorial venture Malarvadi Arts Club, shot to fame after becoming part of the blockbuster film Premam. It was then he got a call to Happy Wedding, followed by Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan. Now, the actor is all set to come up with two films —Third World Boys and Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela. Third World Boys, which was completed two years back, is now slated to be a May release. “In fact, I acted in the film just after I completed my portions in Neram. The film deals with a group of friends who go on a trip.

“ Along with me, Soubin Shahir, Shine Tom Chacko, Balu Varghese, Sudhy Koppa, Sreenath Bhasi and Premjith have equally important roles. It was Soubin who suggested my name for this character. Though the shoot was completed then, it is now that we could take it to the screens,” says Siju, who enacts Wilson in the film. “One of the interesting factors of this film is that each character is named after the actor who essayed that role —Soubin acts as Soubin, Sudhy Koppa appears as Sudhy... like that. In fact, while doing this film, my screen name was Wilson Joseph, the name I chose after coming to movies. My official name is Siju Wilson.

Later, I realised that there was no point in changing the name,” he laughs and continues, “It was while acting in Premam that Alphonse asked me to go back to my official name. But the only problem is that my Wikipedia page still bears that old name.” Along with hero roles, Siju essays supporting roles too. In Nivin Pauly-starrer Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela, he acts as Nivin's brother-in-law. Quizzed about whether he was comfortable doing side roles  even while getting offers to essay the protagonist, he says,

“I started my career with a small screen appearance. Later, I got a chance to do several side roles and also lead roles. That does not force me to keep a distance from supporting roles. I am ready to appear in roles which offer me space to perform.” Siju is currently acting in debutant Mousin Kassim's yet-to-be-titled film produced by Alphonse Puthren.
