Malayalam actress abduction: Dileep's bail plea moved to next week
In his bail plea, Dileep alleged that the entire case was fabricated by police.
Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Friday sought state government's stand on the bail application filed by actor Dileep, the 11th accused in the actor abduction case. The court also adjourned the case to Friday. The High Court had earlier dismissed the bail plea of Dileep who is at present lodged at the Aluva Sub Jail. The Angamali Judicial FIrst Class Magistrate had extended the remand period of Dileep till August 22. Dileep was arrested on July 10. In his bail application, the actor had severely criticised the cops and even alleged that the entire case was fabricated by them.
He had also unleashed a scathing attack against his former wife Manju Warrier. Dileep argued that he is not the kingpin of any criminal conspiracy or even a participant. He is not the perpetrator of any criminal offence. He argued that he is only the unfortunate victim of an orchestrated media campaign and proceedings of a group of police officers acting on a preconceived notion and wanting to implicate him as an accused. The actor argued that the investigating agency has been persuading other departments to initiate action against the petitioner on the allegation of encroachment of government lands and accumulation of unaccounted wealth.
