Renji Panicker croons again
It is after a gap of 22 years Renji Panicker sings for a film.
It was in 1990, Renji Panicker, who was then known as a journalist, ventured into screen writing with Shaji Kailas- directed comedy film Dr Pashupathy. He took another two years to land on his master piece genre — political thriller. It was with Suresh Gopi-starrer Thalasthanam, Renji Panicker got the tag — the firebrand writer of Mollywood. Even when busy as a screenwriter, Renji used to find time to enact small roles in the films he wrote and penning lyrics for his friend Shaji Kailas’ Rudrakhsam.
The interesting fact is that this multifaceted person had sung a song — Bhara-thamenna peru ... in his most popular film —The King. Now after a gap of 22 years, the writer-actor-director, has again recorded a song for a film — Sunny Wayne-starrer Alamara. Renji sung the song — En thala chuttanu, along with its composer Sooraj S Kurup.
