Sudev Nair back to college
The youth-oriented film will go on floors towards this month end.
It’s back to college for Sudev Nair. After rolling up the sleeves for enacting a volleyball player in Manju Warrier starrer Karimkunnam Sixes, the Mumbai-based Malayali actor, who won a state award is getting ready to play a college boy in debut director Jeevan Das’ untitled movie. The youth-oriented film will go on floors towards this month end.
“I am playing Nikhil, a college student who extends help for the needy. It's a fun film with a lot of humour and social relevance,” says Sudev. The location is Kannur.
Sudev, who got into films with a villainous role in Bollywood flick Gulab Gaang, made his M-Town entry in M.B. Padmakumar movie My Life Partner. The film kicked up quite a storm for the controversial topic it dealt with — the relationship between two men. Yet Sudev hit the bull’s eye in the first shot sharing the Kerala State Film Award for best actor with Nivin Pauly in 2014.
He went on to act as a Naval officer in Anarkali in 2015 after which he signed Karimkunnam Sixes. He also has to credit a ‘mockumentary’ web series ‘Not Fit’ released in 2015 -labelled to be a first in India.
