High honour for Siddique

Director Siddique, who began his journey with Kalabhavan, has been selected for the Fr Abel Award instituted by Kalabhavan’s Fr Abel Art Foundation. He is the first recipient of the award. A cash award of Rs 25,000 along with memento and citation will be given to the winner. Siddique was chosen from a group of prominent people having roots at Kalabhavan by a four-member jury comprising John Paul, Kaladharan (Kalapeedam), Berny and Ignatius.
Siddique who has many hits such as Pappan Priyappetta Pappan, Ramji Rao Speaking, Kabooliwala, Godfather, Vietnam Colony, Bodyguard and Bhaskar the Rascal to his credit has so far written stories for 34 movies in various languages. He has also penned the script for 23 movies and directed 19 films.
