Rao Ramesh is known for his versatile roles in movies. This time he is back in a family drama and is a revelation as she shows he has the funny bones.
Rao Ramesh excels as an unemployed man in his 50s in this comic-family-drama. In Maruti Nagar Subramanyam, the character played by Rao Ramesh is very gripping. The movie surely makes the audience (even those who go with no expectations) laugh.
The movie revolves around the character Maruti Nagar Subramanyam, who waits for 25 years to work as a government employee and all this while his wife runs the house, who works in the public sector. On the other hand his son Arjun, who prepares for a banking job falls in love (at first sight) with Ramya. The story takes a turn when Rs 10,000,00 gets deposited in Subramanyam's account from an unidentified source. After a lot of contemplation, they spend the amount then struggle to repay it. In the meantime, there's a conflict like situation with Ramya's family. Will he get back the 10 lakh rupees? Will Arjun and Ramya get married? The movie attempts to answer these questions.
The movie also takes many late 90s kids back to their childhood as they see the cast of Amrutham in the movie. Vasu Inturi (Sarvam), Harsha Vardhan (Amrutham) and Sivannarayana Naripeddi (Appaji) also play key roles in the movie.
Coming back, Comedy, emotions and acting are highlights of the outing. The story is also well written. The cinematography in the movie also looks natural and fit into the story. The anti-climax and climax, though cliched, gets a new touch to make it interesting.
If you are a fan of Tollywood comedies, go for it without hesitation. Maruti Nagar Subramanyam is a refreshing take on family dramas to unwind.
