Marubhoomiyile Aana movie review: The tottering Aana'
The movie is about Suku, who ropes in an Arab to resolve his problems.
Director: V.K. Prakash
Cast: Biju Menon, Krishna Shankar, Samskruthy Shenoy, Lalu Alex
Director V.K. Prakash does not stick to a particular genre. So even when you sit to watch his movie, you are not sure what to expect. The awardwinning director’s latest movie Marubhoomiyile Aana, starring Biju Menon, leaves you perplexed as to whether the director was attempting humour through a murder-mystery. Sure the movie has some surprise elements. When you expect the least, the story unfolds its twist.
The movie is about Suku, who ropes in an Arab to resolve his problems. The Arab is played by Biju Menon, who is also well-versed in Malyalam. Biju’s Arab sheik is sure to make us laugh, what with the design to make a fool of himself.
Lalu Alex plays the greedy antagonist Kamalan. Suku, played by Premam-fame Krishnakumar tries to get his childhood sweetheart Keerthi, daughter of Kamalan. The attempt to fit in a love story was also evident, but was not so convincing. Acting-wise, he didn’t fail much. Keerthi, played by Samskruthy Shenoy, was ineffective.
Humour codes of the movie are played by Suku’s friend and Kamalan’s subordinate. Suku’s friend, played by Balu Varghese, entertains, while Kamalan’s assistant is weak. Visuals are impressive. Overall, the movie is a one-time watch.
