After a series of disappointing releases, Sharan who shifted from comedy roles to becoming a full-time hero with Rambo, is back on the road to success with Rambo 2. While, the sequel has nothing to do with the prequel, the makers seem to have used the title just for its commercial viability.

Sticking to his genre of films as a hero where comedy plays the key role, the director has used it in the right proportion woven around a simple subject. When compared to the first version, the second one, in terms of wholesome entertainment, may not match the earlier versatility, and hence ends up disappointing Rambo lovers, slightly. But, it doesn’t leave them completely unhappy.

What saves the day for Rambo 2, is its simple storyline, and narration. Most of the fun, laughter and drama is on the road. The chase and the suspense drama keeps the audience tiptoeing on this entertainment route.

The protagonist, Krishna who seeks variety in everything he does in life, is in pursuit of a girl with a similar character. And, he finds one, portrayed by Ashika, as the journey kicks off for two plus hours filled with laughter till it hits a sensible end.

The combination of Sharan and Chikkanna makes it a double treat for fans, along with the typical music and dance which Sharan’s movies score high on. There is also emotional content which makes it sensible, albeit in a senseless comedy which runs on the road.

On a long drive, both Krishna and his girlfriend come across unexpected friends, and a foe, who is after their life. The rest of the journey is to find out the reason for the chase to kill. A short trip filled with fun and thrills, this film satisfies the audience though it is not as great as the first film. Hop on to Rambo 2 which promises decent entertainment.
