Training in choral music in capital
The programme led by musicians from Chennai-based Madras Youth Choir will be held from January 11 to 14 at Lenin Balavadi.
The M.B.S. Youth Choir, a voluntary organisation based in Thiruvananthapuram, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with the annual training programme on choral music from January 11 to 14. The group, formed in memory of the late musician, M.B. Sreenivasan, has been promoting the values of national integration, communal harmony, environmental protection, peace and love, through the language of music. The songs by M.B.S.Youth Choir combine Indian classical and folk music with the harmonic convention of western choral Music.
The training programme will be held at Lenin Balavadi, behind Tagore Theatre, led by Latha Unnikrishnan, Guhaprasath, and Paramsivam from the Chennai-based Madras Youth Choir. There will be an audition on January 11, from 2 pm at the same venue. For more details, contact 94470-78113/ 9495747231.
