Nag Ashwin Says Kalki Is Imperfectly Edited
Kalki 2898 AD has been criticized for its slightly draggy first half. Many have felt that the film, starring Prabhas in the lead, takes a long time to come to the point. It is not until the interval that the film, produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, gets its focus on the plot.
Director Nag Ashwin himself feels the film is imperfectly edited. Answering a question in a press meeting today, the director made the interesting remark about the lack of seamless editing.
The film was not planned to be made into two parts. It was divided into two parts halfway into the shoot. "Due to the two-part nature of the project, some dilution happened," Nag Ashwin said.
The director is looking forward to rectifying some of the mistakes the first part has been associated with.
