Name ‘Eva’ to be dropped from Yashoda on OTT
Filmmakers reach agreement with Eva IVF facility
A few days ago, the Eva IVF fertility centre in Banjara Hills filed a defamation suit against the makers of Samantha-starrer Yashoda, alleging that a surrogacy centre named Eva is shown in the film as indulging in unlawful acts, and that it had damaged their reputation. The Court directed the filmmakers to hold back the release of the film on OTT till December 30. But the issue has been resolved.
The film’s producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad spoke to the management of the Eva IVF facility and sorted out the issue amicably. He said the name ‘Eva’ had been removed from the movie. “We never intended to hurt anyone’s sentiments. The court ordered that the name (Eva) should not be used in OTT channels. The hospital management has expressed ‘no objection’ for the film’s OTT release if the name EVA is removed,” he shared.
The film is running successfully in theatres. Any change in a film shown in theatres has to be made through the Censor Board, and also Key Delivery Message (KDM’s) have to be changed after that. “Since it is a time-consuming process, the hospital management accepted the proposal that the name (Eva) be removed in OTT streaming,” Krishna Prasad explained, and said he was glad that the issue had been resolved amicably.
