On the occasion of Diwali, telly actors tells us about improtant Diwali moments — both professional and personal — that lit their lives or changed their outlook.

Saurabh Pandey: My biggest Diwali moment was when I gave up substance abuse and turned a new leaf. I was into drugs and I realised I needed to get my life back on track. So I mustered up the  courage and decided to give up my addiction. It was the toughest thing to do. I feel that if we truly want to celebrate Diwali then we should do it in a traditional way by celebrating it with our loved ones. So this Diwali I will be visiting my hometown Delhi and spend the festival with my family.

Gunjan Utreja: An interesting Diwali moment was when I signed Madhubala as the leading man and got appreciation for the same. The show turned my life around. This year I am going to work during Diwali, will also host a lot of events and work on my web series on the side.

Rashami Desai: The fondest Diwali  moment was when I purchased my own house, got a pet dog and named him Oreo. It gave me a rare sense of contentment and independence. I felt so liberated. This year I am busy shooting for my new show so I’ll celebrate Diwali with the cast and crew, but I will try and spend some quality time with my close friends too.

Shivin Narang:  My big Diwali moment was when I played a key character in Veera.  The show connected with the classes as well as with the masses. It made me a household name and gave my life a 360 degree turn. This Diwali like every year, I am heading to Delhi to celebrate with my family and friends. We have taken to celebrating a silent Diwali — without crackers for a while now. It’s more about decorating the house and buying new clothes and gifts for us.

Shashank Vyas: The biggest Diwali moment was when I signed my first show Balika Vadhu. It made me and my late co-star Pratyusha Bannerjee overnight sensations. The show turned my life around in a huge way. It gave me name, fame and everything I could dream of. People still remember the show and the character I played.
