Jayasudha tops the race for APFDC chair
The other contenders for the post include Mohan Babu, Ali, and Jeevitha.
The new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to have got rather busy with the various governance-related affairs of the state. Many top actors, including Mohan Babu, Jayasudha, Ali, the Rajasekhar couple and Prudhvi among others, campaigned rigorously for Jagan in the recently concluded elections. And now that their favourite candidate has earned himself the seat of the Chief Minister of the state, these actors are hoping to land a position, in service of the party.
One of the most-eyed positions in demand, however, happens to be that of the chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation (APFDC). Previously held by producer Ambika Krishna, the new government has to now fill the position with another worthy candidate. Word is that Jagan is considering Jayasudha to take over, mostly because she’s a senior actress and on good terms with the Telugu film industry.
“Jayasudha entered politics on the request of Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy, and now, his son Jagan Mohan Reddy is contemplating offering her the position of the Chairman of the APFDC,” said a source in the know. The other contenders for the post include Mohan Babu, Ali, and Jeevitha.
