Arvind Swamy paid big bucks for Dhruva
The actor has reportedly been paid a very high remuneration to reprise the role he played in Tamil hit film, Thani Oruvan.
Arvind Swamy, who made his comeback with the Tamil hit film Thani Oruvan is reprising the role in the film’s Telugu remake, Dhruva. The actor, who rose to fame with Mani Ratnam’s Roja, went on to work in many films till 2006 and after a long back made a comeback with Mani Ratnam’s Kadali, which didn’t do well at the box-office.
It was Thani Oruvan, where he played a stylish negative character that turned his career around. He is now getting many offers, one of them being the film’s Telugu remake. Though he charged a mere '50 lakh for the Tamil version, according to a source, he has taken '5 crore for the Telugu film. “Initially he didn’t want to repeat himself, but the Telugu makers insisted, and so he demanded a huge remuneration,” says a source. It remains to be seen how he will be received by the audiences.
