When will we stop objectifying women?'

When the first look of veteran director Vamsy’s sequel to Ladies Tailor, Fashion Designer S/O Ladies Tailor was released recently, actress Lakshmi Manchu was quick to express her dislike. “When will we stop objectifying women like this (sic),” she wrote on social media. Soon, she was supported by her colleague Rakul Preet, who said, “True ! N then we talk about messages that film send out! (sic).”

However, the film’s producer Madhura Sreedhar apologised soon, “I am sorry Andi.... it’s not intentional.... just depicted this pre-look from a sequence in the movie. Will surely take your point. Thank u! (sic).”

But it didn’t just die out like that. The response to Lakshmi and Rakul came from netizens who pointed out films done by Lakshmi’s family members (Mohan Babu, Vishnu and Manoj) and Rakul which had similar instances.

In fact, a user pointed out, “It’s probably true that those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones at others.”
