We are actors, not heroes: Aadhi Pinisetty
Aadhi Pinisetty is fast proving his versatility as an actor, and refuses to be slotted into one type of role or character.
Aadhi Pinisetty is being much appreciated for his role of Kumar Babu in the recently released film Rangasthalam, where he plays an elder brother to Ram Charan. The actor opines that he is getting good roles after he decided not to stick only to lead roles.
While the lead actor in the Telugu film industry is generally called a ‘hero’, Aadhi Pinisetty redefines the word. “I personally feel that a hero is a person who does something brave in real life. We are not heroes, we are all actors and we are only doing our job,” says Aadhi, who started off his career as a hero, but is now doing many negative and character roles too.
“I don’t want to stick to only lead roles as I want to expand my horizon. Once I took that decision, I got many good roles like Vairam Dhanush (Sarrainodu), Arun (Ninnu Kori), Seetharam (Agnyaathavaasi) and now Kumar Babu (Rangasthalam). If I was confined to only certain kinds of roles, then I would miss all these films,” says Aadhi.
The actor however reveals that he has signed three films as a lead actor.
“Taapsee, Ritika Singh and I are doing a film together. I have also signed two bilingual films in which I am playing the protagonist. I will continue to play both lead and character roles that come my way,” says the actor, revealing that director Sukumar shared the story of Rangasthalam during the making of Ninnu Kori.
“I usually don’t reply immediately and always take a day’s time to respond. But for this film, I immediately said yes,” confesses Aadhi, adding, “I liked the character a lot and also believe in director Sukumar.”
Interestingly, Aadhi’s father, Raviraja Pinisetty is a popular director who has done more than 50 films.
“I always take my father’s opinion because he has vast experience in this field. Whatever film I sign, I discuss it with him and take his advice. But he has never pressurised me to do any particular role. He always gave me freedom and told me to follow my heart,” says Aadhi.
After watching Rangasthalam along with his parents and the audience, the actor says, “My parents were almost in tears when they saw my death scene in the film. Though we all know that it’s just a film, those scenes moved everyone emotionally.”
