It has been receiving overwhelming response in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

The much-hyped horror thriller ‘Maa Oori Polimera 2’ released on November 3 has set cash registers ringing for the last few days. It has been receiving overwhelming response in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states and is set to become a sensational hit. "After making Rs 7 crores in the first three days, the film set to pick up drastically and it is  slowly turning into one of the blockbuster films in the horror genre,” says a source, who marks it as another sleeper hit in Telugu film industry.

“Although, its teaser and trailer evoked good response, no one gave it a chance but it surprised everyone and trounced other films like ‘Keeda Cola’ and ‘Vidhi’ to emerge a big winner this week,” he adds. The film revolves around a policeman who sets out to seek justice for his brother’s death in a village plagued with black magic.

“Black magic and supernatural elements are drawing crowds in big numbers particularly in hundreds of single screens and growing stronger by the day,” he adds. The much-hyped spooky thriller was reportedly made with Rs 6 crores with a starcast like Baladitya, Satyam Rajesh, Sahiti Dasari and Kamakshi Bhaskarala who breathed life into the characters. It was written and directed by Anil Viswanath who delivered a realistic and gripping fare.

“Earlier, 'Virupaksha' was a record-breaking hit in this genre and now another film is following suit and expected to make more than Rs 15 cores going by initial estimates. It also depends on the aggressive promotions to be taken by the makers to boost the collections and it could surpass Rs 20 crore and more to revive sagging fortunes of Telugu horror movies in Telugu," he concludes.
