Even though Krack, released last month, has set the cash registers ringing, the film’s producer and director seem to have fallen out. A couple of days ago, director Gopichand Malineni filed a complaint against the film’s producer Tagore Madhu with the Telugu Film Directors Association (TFDA), alleging that Madhu had failed to pay his full remuneration.

Prasanna Kumar, Secretary, Telugu Film Producers Council (TPFC), said, “We have received the complaint that was forwarded by the TFDA against Tagore Madhu. We have written to the producer asking for his explanation. Once we get the reply, we will send it to the TFDA for perusal.” He said a coordination committee chaired by producer K.L. Narayana would work to resolve the issue.

“The coordination committee consists of officer bearers of both TFPC and TFDA. After ascertaining the facts, the committee will take a decision. I believe the matter will be quickly resolved in the next few days,” Prasanna Kumar said.

Meanwhile, Tagore Madhu blames the controversy on ‘miscommunication’. “After putting so much effort into the film, the issue is unfortunate,” he said, adding, “I think there was a slight miscommunication. Due to the pandemic, the film’s budget was revised. In the process of revising the budget there might have been a slip up. We shall resolve the matter quickly.”

It may be recalled that Madhu had offered the film to Gopichand after the latter’s earlier movie, Winner, tanked at the box office.
