I didn't know Y S Jagan before YSR's death, says RGV
He also notes that \'self-piteous\' role of the protagonist would be the USP of his much-hyped political saga.
Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma told Deccan Chronicle exclusively that 'Vyooham' would be a 'special film' in his illustrious career. He also notes that 'self-piteous' role of the protagonist would be the USP of his much-hyped political saga. "Dramatic elements in the movie would hold the audience in its grip and we are releasing the film on November 10," he added.
Earlier, Ram Gopal Varma while unveiling the trailer of Vyooham, he stated that he didn’t know much about Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. “Frankly, I didn’t know much about Y S Jagan. But I began to observe him closely after the sudden demise of his father and late Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh Y S Rajasekhar Reddy,” says the director, who dismisses reports that he is making an official biopic on Y S Jagan.
“It is true that some filmmakers have churned out biopics, but I had no such intention. Rather, I started my own research and gathered information from various sources to make this political potboiler, which mostly showcases the behind-the-scenes operations of various characters instead of what they said in the public domain,” he adds.
Although his trailer depicts various characters similar to real-life public leaders former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Congress ex-president Sonia Gandhi, Pawan Kalyan and K Rosaiah, he rules out mocking anyone. “I have no intention to mock anyone or show anyone in a positive or negative light. I would be depicting their characters as realistically as possible without any bias. I am just showing reel-life characters of those who played varied roles in Y S Jagan’s life and affected his life before he became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh,” he points out.
Noted producer Dasari Kiran Kumar who made ‘Vangaveeti’ with Ram Gopal Varma has teamed up with him again to showcase the trials and tribulations of the son of a Chief Minister. “Y S Jagan could go down as the only Chief Minister's son to go through a lot of struggles for nine years before he could win the love and affection of people of Andhra Pradesh, who crowned him as the chief minister of the state. His story is truly inspirational due to his determination and commitment to succeed in his chosen life," he concludes.
